Puppets make reading more INTERACTIVE and FUN. This Thanksgiving activity is definitely one of our 1st grade favorites! Perfect for November. Use either the male or female Farmer Puppet to help tell the cute story about a Farmer who looks for a turkey. Teach positional / directional words, geometric shapes, and following directions. The farmer goes up a hill, through the grass, around the lake, under the trees, and behind a bush. Store the puppet in a library pocket (or make a pocket with the template that’s included!) that is glued to the back of the book cover. Listen your students read it over and over again!
