Description

This Bundle of Science of Reading aligned Targeted Phonics Suffixes (adding -s, -es, -ed, and -ing) animated PowerPoints and Videos help with the skill of adding endings or suffixes to words including making plural words correctly. Students learn to add -es to words with words that end with ch, sh, s, x, and z and just add s to the rest. Students also learn to double the consonant for short vowel words and to drop the e for words that end with silent e when adding -ing and -ed. They also learn the 3 sounds that the suffix -ed make: /t/, /d/, and /ed/. Slides with the phonics rules are provided.

These PowerPoints and Videos are for whole-group instruction, small groups, interventions, and literacy centers. Students are prompted to read the base word and then read the word with the ending or suffix added. Perfect for K-1.
