Have your students build silly holiday sentences by spinning the subject (who or what), the predicate (did what) and clauses (when or where) then write and share their silly sentences! Great for writing centers. Listen to them giggle when they build: Santa’s beard made a gingerbread house during a fire drill.
Use these factual writing graphic organizers and planners to introduce expository writing to your K, 1st or 2nd grade students. The planners or graphic organizers help beginning writers to organize their writing. Students then write a report or non-fiction piece using the planner.
Your students will love to sort words with initial and final consonant blends in this (easy to prepare and use) center activity! Using the consonant cluster headers, students place the correct words under the correct headers. They then record their words on the included form. Students could also sort words on the floor or on a table. Simply print, laminate and cut out cards. Either print in color as shown, or print in black and white. You can even write in your own blends (clusters) and words on the included blank cards! Store in Ziplock bags or plastic pencil boxes. This center will be your go-to center and will last for years. Students will want to use this center over and over again!
