Perfect for Black History Month and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! Each student in the class will color at least one part of the collaborative poster. When each part is completed, the parts are assembled like a puzzle and displayed on the wall. The finished poster is approximately 53” x 41” and is great on a wall in the hall, near the office, in the cafeteria or gym.

Your students will see and learn about African-American abolitionists, civil rights activists, inventors, politicians, athletes, and social leaders. The following people are included: Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, George Washington Carver, Ida B. Wells, W.E.B. DuBois, Madam C.J. Walker, Thurgood Marshall, Langston Hughes, Rosa Parks, Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Katherine Johnson, Shirley Chisholm, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Oprah Winfrey, and Barack Obama. Supplement your curriculum or use during Black History Month in February to help students understand the people, events, and eras related to slavery, Jim Crow Laws, Civil Rights, and modern movements. The posters and biographies are simple to print and post, while the trading cards come 4 to a page.
