U.S. Symbols Patriotic American Symbols Civics Unit for 2nd and 3rd Grades

Description

Students explore the meanings of the symbols that represent our United States and its people. This is a comprehensive social studies packet that can be used as a stand-alone curriculum or as a supplement to your current curriculum. It is aligned with Common Core and the National Social Studies standards. Students learn about 10 different U.S. and Patriotic national symbols (Liberty Bell, U.S. Flag, bald eagle, U.S. Constitution, White House, Uncle Sam, Washington Monument, Statue of Liberty, Lincoln Memorial, and Mount Rushmore). The packet includes vocabulary cards, an Interactive Powerpoint, posters of each symbol (with and without text), symbolic quotes, The Preamble to the Constitution, the Pledge of Allegiance, FLIP Book, a booklet, worksheets and quiz, a report writing planner, and answer keys.
