Sentence Building Pocket Chart Center Activity

Your students will love to build silly sentences with this reading or writing build a sentence center activity! Using the color-coded headers WHO or WHAT, DID WHAT, WHERE, and WHEN, students place the correct phrases under the correct headers of the same color. They then record their sentences on the included form. Students could also build sentences on the floor or on a table. Simply print, laminate, and cut out cards. Either print in color as shown or print in black and white and print different category cards on different colored paper. Store in Ziplock bags or plastic pencil boxes. This center will last for years and students will want to make new sentences over and over again.

Cards are 5″ x 2″. If a pocket chart is used, the width of the pocket chart needs to be at least 20″ across. (This would be a mid-size wall pocket chart.)
