Get your 3rd graders to write LONGER, more interesting sentences when you introduce 7-up sentence writing! A 7-up sentence is a sentence that has 7 words or more (max 10 words typically). Teach your students to add more detail and interest to their sentences. Instruction suggestions included. Once they understand the concept, it makes a great center activity!

This packet includes activity sheets for your students to write their own 7-up sentences using (copyright 2011, 2014 and 2017) 3rd grade Houghton Mifflin Reading vocabulary words. All 30 lessons for the year are included! In addition, if you are unfamiliar with 7-up sentence writing, there is a suggestion sheet that explains the use of this packet.

Use as a reading or writing center or use whole group writing and reinforce the reading vocabulary words for the week! Before you know it, your 3rd graders will be writing FABULOUS sentences that are longer, more interesting, and more detailed. Other teachers will be asking for your secret!
