Throughout the year and during Black History Month, your students will see and learn about African-American abolitionists, civil rights activists, inventors, politicians, athletes, and social leaders. Walker, Thurgood Marshall, Langston Hughes, Rosa Parks, Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Katherine Johnson, Shirley Chisholm, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Oprah Winfrey, and Barack Obama. Supplement your curriculum or use during Black History Month in February to help students understand the people, events, and eras related to slavery, Jim Crow Laws, Civil Rights, and modern movements.
