Although this black history poster and trading cards product is for grades 2-4, I share the information from these posters and trading cards with my first graders. We discuss the impact these important and historical figures have had on our nation!

Grades 2-4 of course can go into greater depth with instruction, discussion, and research on these 20 black American leaders.

Even though I teach first grade, I still bought and used this product. I made a big door display with it and we talked through each person. It was still very effective with younger students and any older students who walked by could read it too. Next year I can’t wait to make a hallway display with it instead 🙂

I’m using these to teach from for my littles. I love the small “trading cards.” We’re using these to make mini books so they have a copy of everyone we’ve discussed.
